Frequently Asked Questions

Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center
What insurance do you accept?

We accept most major insurance policies; however, there are many different types of policies. The most efficient way to determine if your insurance coverage is accepted by Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center is to have our Insurance Management department contact the insurance company on your behalf. We can verify benefits in a short time and inform you of eligibility and coverage.

Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center is in-network with several major insurance providers, including:

  • Aetna
  • Beacon Health Options
  • BCBS
  • Cigna
  • Magellan
  • Multiplan
  • Scott & White
What is your success rate?

As of May 25, 2022, Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center is proud to publish our 95% completion rate on the last 579 clients admitted to our program. Our clients are equipped with the education and understanding to manage their substance use disorder in an effective way. They leave with the skills, tools and a working knowledge of the 12 steps to maintain recovery. Our goal is that each client leaves Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center with a solid foundation on which to continue their new life of recovery.  Individuals who wholeheartedly seek recovery and are willing to go to any lengths to stay sober CAN AND DO stay sober.

If there’s no insurance, how much is treatment?

Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center has established an affordable price point for most families.  For those that do not have medical insurance, we do offer a private pay option. We encourage those who are interested in our program to contact our admissions department at (254) 918-2009 for financing options.

What is your average length of stay?
Our program is a 90-day licensed, CARF and The Joint Commission Accredited residential treatment program with 30-day and 60-day options. Because we know each of our clients’ needs are unique, it is difficult to determine the recommended length of stay prior to admission. However, we do ask that they commit to a minimum of 30 days.
What do horses have to do with addiction treatment?
Horses naturally provide benefits of work ethic, responsibility, assertiveness, communication and healthy relationships. They create a natural opportunity for teamwork and can assist someone to overcome fear and develop confidence.   As the clients accomplish tasks with horses, they build confidence to deal with challenging situations they face in their lives. The Eagala Model, utilized at Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center, is a Global Standard in Therapy and Personal Development.   Through the experiential therapy that Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) provides, clients are given the opportunity to practice effective communication skills and assertiveness needed to repair and maintain healthy relationships.
What should I do if my family member doesn’t want treatment?

The sooner a person using drugs or alcohol gets into treatment, the better chance for long-term recovery, which is our focus at Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center. Letting a human being hit “rock bottom” is a myth not a fact. We do NOT recommend it, nor do we recommend that they just have to “be done.” The longer a person uses drugs and alcohol, the more damage to his/her vital organs, including the brain. An intervention done with love, care and concern is effective and can be a driving force to get your loved one to accept the help they so desperately need. We will assist you in identifying and selecting qualified, trained, experienced interventionists to assist. Please contact our admissions department at (254) 918-2009 for further information.

What is the admission process?

We have stream-lined our admission process to be efficient and effective. A brief assessment can be conducted over the phone. We specialize in same day admissions. The first step is to contact our admissions department at (254) 918-2009.

What makes Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center different from other treatment facilities?

Unlike traditional drug rehabilitation centers, Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center offers a unique treatment experience that includes equine therapy and truly individualized treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders. Our professional, compassionate, and caring staff will go “above and beyond” for each client we serve.

Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center is unique in that we offer a spiritual approach to the twelve steps combined with professional counseling, neurotherapy, and an Equine Assisted Addiction Recovery Program. TRRC is situated within the gorgeous sprawling grounds of Touchstone Ranch. Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center encourages our patients to participate in equine therapy with our Eagala-certified staff. Clients can interact daily with the animals housed on the Recovery Center grounds. These animals range from loving dogs to buffalo, and even zebras—yes, zebras! Touchstone Ranch is a working performance horse ranch that raises champion horses as well as many exotic animals. When taking a walk, many of our patients tell us they love watching the animals play—it feels like “home on the range.”

Our clients receive excellent individualized care because we do not serve any more than 27 clients at a time. TRRC is appropriately licensed by the state of Texas and dually accredited by The Joint Commission and CARF. Our licensed therapists, nurses, and counselors have many years working in the field of mental health services. Many of our staff members have been affected by substance use disorder and/or mental illness in some way. With more than 125 combined years in recovery, our staff can relate on a personal level with each of our clients. We believe recovery is possible for anyone who seeks it, and we are committed to providing the very best individualized treatment and recovery services to those we serve.
